School pictures

Every year at school I remember dreading the awful "picture day", being herded into the cafeteria for your 3 seconds of fame, where the photographer would blandly say Smile and flash the camera before I was ever ready. No one reminded me to look at my hair or clothes before I sat down...guess I should have thought of that! My best (or more specifically worst) picture day was the day my mom told me I could wear whatever I wanted, probably because she was tired of arguing with my strong-willed self. I ended up with an elastic-gathered collar on a small flower printed shirt, with my hair in barrets on the sides, and I forgot to take my retainer out of my mouth....hence, worst picture in history. It's still framed and sitting on my gramma's shelf, and it stands as my haunting reminder to maybe listen to your parents once in a while!

So I figure that Avery needs school pictures...in case his friends want to trade one of theirs. So being the 'fun' mom that I envision myself to be, I drag my child to the park (that's a fun place, right!) after arguing with him for 20 minutes over what I am forcing him to wear, and after trekking across the un-mowed field to this cool rocky area, we get spiked with about a hundred little cockleburrs which brings him almost to tears a couple of times. But no, quit crying! We need one more pose over here...NOT on that rock, over here!! At least I know I've given him almost the same memories of picture day as I had, guess I'm just passing down tradition. Well, enjoy :)

Looks like he got into football, right? Nah...we just found this here, first time he's ever thrown a football probably.

I think this is the one we'll print for his friends :)
