Labor Day weekend was a double family camping trip for us. We went to Elk City state park in southern Kansas. We hiked about 5 miles in the beautiful rocky terrain...and I forgot to bring the camera! Shame shame...we had so much fun cooking over the campfire, swimming in the lake, and living in the huge 3 room tent that fit both our families. The kids favorite part was playing with the dead minnow in the lake, and collecting what looked like squirrel vertebrae and ribs. I missed eating healthy food though! We all agreed we should come back again when it isn't so hot...yesterday it was 105. Do you think we could have fit ANYTHING else in that minivan? Not a chance.
