Dad bought me my first Nintendo when I was about 12 and I was hooked on Mario. Now Avery plays the same game (though on the Nintendo Wii)...slightly more advanced than 18 years ago. :)
I made these out of clay and baked them so they are hard, and had the board laminated. Chris has Mario sound effects on his phone so all through the game we hear "cha-ching!" when we pick up a coin, "boing, boing" when we go to the next space, "Bwa, Bwa, Bwa" when we lose a match against Bowser.
Bowser seems a little hard to defeat, but hey, we can make up our own rules for this game! Avery's favorite character in the game is Blue Toad. The other characters are Yoshi, Mario, and Luigi.
